Follow the fur brigade
Fur Brigade Trail
The Fur Brigade Trail is located above the Hardy Falls parking lot. This trail is mostly easy however slightly more moderate at the top. This narrow forestry road is sometimes rocky and uneven, but the lake view is well worth the walk .
The trail is full of history. You'll be able to see the water flumes from the late 1800's/early 1900's that provided water to Peachland below.
The trail slowly ascends and moves south and parallel to the lake with several loops as you get higher up. After about 3/4 of an hour you will pass overhead electrical lines. Shortly after the trail turns right, then left and right again with a steeper grade. As you come out to the open you'll see a hill and viewpoint to the right. After taking in the view, continue 100m on the trail, turn left to another viewpoint showing a sign of the Fur Brigade Linear Park dedicated by the district of Summerland.
Directions: Follow Highway 97 South and turn right onto Hardy Rd. Pass the Hardy Falls trail head and parking lot and continue up the hill on a narrow paved (then gravel) road until the end. Turn around when you see the orchard and park 50m down on the right side of the road near the trail head.
