A Little Glimpse into Peachland's Past
Stave Pipe Trail
Stave Pipe Trail is accessible from numerous points, including signed trailheads located at Pincushion Place via 6th Avenue, Peachland Elementary School on Clements Crescent and the Trepanier Road-Okanagan Connector Overpass. The Trepanier entrance is located 6km west along the Connector measured from the interchange on Hwy 97 and Hwy 97C. This access is charred from a 2012 wildfire.
Suggested access is via Beach Avenue south of the small bridge that crosses Trepanier Creek.
Rated as easy for most of it's length, the route is best suited to foot and mountain bike traffic.
This hiking trail goes past the ruins of the first hydro electric plant that powered Peachland from 1909 to 1947. The Canyon Lookout and the Trepanier Power Dam are nearby. Watch for remnants of the old wooden pipes that brought water from Trepanier Creek.
Directions: From Highway 97 turn onto Clements Crescent and park at the school. About 70 metres past the fence the trail turns left. Follow the orange trail markers (#1) up the moderately steep slope.
